Description
Platies, colourful and hardy freshwater fish, thrive in home aquariums with proper care. A tank size of at least 10 gallons is suitable for a small group of platies. They prefer water temperatures between 70-82°F (21-28°C) and a pH level of 6.8-8.2. Regular water changes, about 25% every 2-4 weeks, maintain water quality.
Platies are omnivorous, so provide a balanced diet with high-quality flakes or pellets and occasional live or frozen treats like bloodworms or brine shrimp. They are social fish, so keep them in groups of 3 or more to reduce stress. Adequate filtration and diligent monitoring of water parameters are essential. With proper care, platies will flourish in your home aquarium, showcasing their vibrant colours and peaceful demeanour.
