Description
The Algae Blenny, Salarias fasciatus, is a charming and beneficial addition to marine aquariums. Sporting a mottled pattern of green and brown, this peaceful herbivore is renowned for its voracious appetite for algae, helping to maintain tank cleanliness. Growing up to 10 centimetres in length, it prefers a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and live rock to graze on. Water parameters should be maintained with a temperature range of 22-26°C, pH between 8.1-8.4, and a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025. Offer a varied diet including algae sheets, spirulina, and occasionally meaty foods. Regular water changes are crucial for optimal health.
