Description

The Blue Cheek Goby (Valenciennea strigata) is a small, colourful fish found in the tropical Indo-Pacific region. Known for its striking blue markings on its cheeks, this species typically inhabits sandy bottoms near coral reefs. They are peaceful and social fish, often seen burrowing into sand beds in search of food. 

Care Requirements:
- Tank Size: Minimum 30 litres (8 gallons) for a single fish.
- Water Temperature: 24-28°C (75-82°F).
- Water Parameters: pH 8.1-8.4, specific gravity 1.020-1.025.
- Diet: Omnivorous; feed a mix of live or frozen brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp, and high-quality flake food.
- Tank Setup: Provide a sandy substrate and plenty of hiding spots with live rock.
- Compatibility: Generally peaceful with other small, non-aggressive tankmates.
- Maintenance: Regular water changes and filtration to maintain water quality.
