Description
The Regal Tang, (Paracanthurus hepatus), also known as the Palette Surgeonfish or Blue Tang, is a striking marine fish renowned for its vibrant blue body with contrasting black markings and a yellow tail fin. Growing up to 30 centimetres (12 inches) in length, these tropical beauties thrive in aquariums with ample swimming space and pristine water conditions. They require a well-established tank with live rock for grazing and hiding spots. Maintain water temperature between 24-28°C (75-82°F), pH levels of 8.1-8.4, and salinity of 1.020-1.025. A varied diet consisting of algae, spirulina, and occasional meaty foods will ensure their health and vitality. Regular water changes and diligent tank maintenance are crucial for their well-being.
