Description

The Teardrop Butterflyfish (Chaetodon unimaculatus) is a striking marine fish with a distinctive black teardrop-shaped mark below its eye. Native to the Indo-Pacific region, it inhabits coral reefs and lagoons. This species thrives in aquariums with ample hiding spots and live rock. Provide a tank size of at least 100 litres with stable water parameters: temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, and salinity 1.020-1.025. Offer a varied diet including high-quality flakes, frozen foods, and small live foods like brine shrimp. Due to potential aggression towards other butterflyfish, house singly or with peaceful tankmates like other reef-safe species. Regular water changes are vital for optimal health.
